Certified Hospitalist Coding Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Certified Hospitalist Coding Specialist will provide CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding across various specialties while ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and maintaining high accuracy and productivity standards.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately apply diagnosis and procedure codes utilizing ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS
• Calculate ProFee and/or Facility E/M levels and recognize critical care cases based on patient acuity
• Participate in ongoing training and maintain compliance with ethical coding standards and company policies

Required qualifications

• Certification through AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P) is mandatory
• Minimum of 6 months of on-the-job coding experience is required
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook, with the ability to manage spreadsheets and emails effectively
• Must have a reliable internet connection and current coding materials
• Ability to maintain a productivity level and accuracy rate of 95% or higher
