Certified Hospitalist Coding Specialist

Job Summary

To support a growing healthcare practice, the full-time Certified Hospitalist Coding Specialist will provide CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding for various specialties while working remotely and maintaining high accuracy and productivity standards.

Key responsibilities:

• Accurately apply diagnosis and procedure codes utilizing ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS
• Calculate ProFee E/M levels and recognize critical care cases based on patient acuity
• Participate in ongoing training and maintain compliance with coding standards and ethical guidelines

Required qualifications:

• Certification through AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P) is mandatory
• Minimum of 6 months of on-the-job coding experience required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook is essential
• Working knowledge of EMR and billing systems is necessary
• Ability to maintain a productivity level and accuracy rate of 95% or higher
