Certified Inpatient Coder

Job Summary

To support a growing healthcare team, the full-time remote Certified Inpatient Coder will manage medical coding and data entry for hospital inpatient visits, specifically focusing on CABG, Ortho, and Med cases while utilizing the 3M 360 Encoder HDM.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately assign ICD-10-CM and PCS codes based on medical documentation and site-specific guidelines
• Create compliant physician queries and review claims for medical necessity
• Provide excellent customer service while maintaining quality and productivity standards

Required qualifications

• 2-year degree or equivalent experience; AHIMA or AAPC certification required
• Active credentials such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or COC
• Experience coding CABG, Ortho, and Med cases
• Proficiency with 3M 360 Encoder HDM
• Ability to meet or exceed quality and productivity standards
