Certified Inpatient Coding Specialist

Job Summary

Providing coding services for multiple specialties, the full-time Certified Inpatient Coding Specialist will work remotely to perform accurate coding using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes, ensuring compliance with guidelines and maintaining quality standards.

Key responsibilities:

• Perform accurate analysis of medical records to assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
• Communicate professionally with clients to foster strong working relationships and support business interests
• Maintain productivity and quality standards, ensuring accuracy rates of 95% or higher

Required qualifications:

• Certification through AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P) is mandatory
• Minimum of 2 years of coding experience is required
• Advanced knowledge of EMR and billing systems is necessary
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook is essential
• Current coding materials such as CPT and ICD-10-CM references must be maintained
