Certified Inpatient Medical Coder

Job Summary

To support the coding department, the full-time Certified Inpatient Medical Coder will train new coding specialists, audit coding accuracy, and code various medical records while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Train and support new medical record coding specialists
• Audit and ensure compliance with inpatient and outpatient coding policies and procedures
• Code medical records and abstract necessary information from the electronic medical record system

Required qualifications

• Associate Degree in Health Information Management or related field
• Accredited as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, COC, or CPC with CHONC
• Minimum of two years of academic medical coding experience
• Four years of relevant coding experience required; six or more years preferred
