Job Summary
To support a fully virtual primary care practice, the remote Certified Medical Assistant will manage pharmacy support, coordinate prior authorizations and referrals, and ensure patient follow-up while working a fixed schedule of Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM PST.
Key responsibilities
- Provide pharmacy and prescription support by collaborating with pharmacies and assisting clinicians with workflows
- Prepare and submit prior authorizations and coordinate specialist referrals, tracking them until resolution
- Schedule appointments and conduct follow-up outreach to ensure completion of care plans
Required qualifications
- Active nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification (e.g., CMA, RMA) required
- 3+ years of medical assistant experience required
- 1+ year of telemedicine experience required
- Experience with EHRs and healthcare tools such as CoverMyMeds and DocuSign
- Knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy practices
