Certified Medical Biller

Job Summary

To support a growing ophthalmology practice, the full-time Certified Medical Biller will accurately prepare and submit insurance claims, manage account balances, and ensure timely reimbursements in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies for ophthalmology, optometry, retina, and ASC services
• Track, review, and follow up on unpaid or denied claims, collaborating with insurance carriers to resolve payment issues
• Utilize CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes to ensure accurate and compliant claims submission

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical billing within ophthalmology, optometry, retina, and ASC settings
• Certified Professional Biller (CPB), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or equivalent certification preferred
• Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing practices
• Experience interpreting EOBs and working with payer-specific billing guidelines
• Proficiency in CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
