Certified Medical Billing Representative

Job Summary

To support patient financial assistance initiatives, the remote Patient Support Medical Billing Representative will manage medical claims processing, review documentation, and determine claim approvals or rejections while working full-time on a contract basis.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and review medical claims from healthcare providers or patients, ensuring all documentation is complete
• Interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and CMS-1500 forms to evaluate claims against specific business rules
• Provide support to customer inquiries through various communication channels while adhering to HIPAA guidelines

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a Medical Billing Program or certification as a Certified Medical Billing Representative
• Experience in claims processing and insurance verification
• Ability to interpret EOBs and manage payment postings
• Prior experience in call center or customer service roles
