Job Summary

To support a growing healthcare team, the full-time Certified Medical Coder will assign diagnoses and procedures based on thorough documentation review, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Assign principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures by reviewing medical records and utilizing knowledge of medical terminology
• Ensure correct code selection follows Official Coding Guidelines and complies with federal and insurance regulations
• Review coding for accuracy and completeness prior to submission to billing, and formulate physician queries for any incomplete documentation

Required qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Medical Coding experience required
• Experience with Professional Fee Coding and EHR systems
• Accepted certifications from AHIMA or AAPC, such as RHIT, RHIA, CCA, CCS, CCS-P, or CPC
