Certified Medical Coder

Job Summary

To support efficient claims processing, the remote Certified Medical Coder will review patient medical records, assign appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures, and ensure compliance with coding regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Assign and sequence medical codes accurately according to government and insurance regulations
• Review and verify patient charts and documents for accuracy and completeness
• Collaborate with medical staff to clarify information and prepare reports on chronic conditions

Required qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent
• Medical Coding Certificate; RHIT or CPC by AAPC or AHIMA license
• 1 year of medical coding experience
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
• Proficient in data entry and Electronic Medical Record software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite
