Job Summary
Detail-oriented and experienced, the full-time remote Certified Medical Coding Specialist will review and resolve coding-related suspends, ensuring accurate and timely claim submissions while collaborating with coding and billing staff to address discrepancies.
Key responsibilities
- Review and analyze coding-related suspends to identify errors and discrepancies
- Conduct thorough reviews of medical records and documentation to validate code assignments
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to gather information and resolve coding issues
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in any Life Science field
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or related coding certification required
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical coding, focusing on coding suspends and denials
- In-depth knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, and other coding systems and guidelines
- Familiarity with coding software and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
