Certified Medical Interpreter

Job Summary

To support healthcare communication, the contracted Non-US Based OnDemand VRI/OPI Interpreter will accurately interpret messages between non-English speaking patients and healthcare providers while adhering to ethical standards, all in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately interpret messages between patients and healthcare providers or support personnel
• Adhere to the National Standards of Practice and the National Code of Ethics for Interpreters in Health Care
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of interpreting experience, preferably in OPI/VRI
• Completion of 40 hours or more of interpreter training or possession of relevant interpreter certification (e.g., CHI, CMI, NIC)
• Knowledgeable command of medical, educational, and social services terminology in both source and target languages
• Demonstrated fluency in English and the target language, with ability to provide fluency test results
• Access to a working computer, high-speed internet, and a quiet, confidential call environment
