Job Summary
To manage a high-volume caseload across multiple ophthalmology subspecialties, the full-time Certified Ophthalmic Technician will evaluate medication barriers, coordinate payer requirements, and ensure documented resolutions in a remote setting.
Key responsibilities
- Review and validate medication requests from various sources, including electronic systems and patient communications
- Differentiate and research various medication access barriers while preparing and submitting accurate requests
- Communicate status updates and coordinate next steps with clinical and non-clinical partners, maintaining thorough documentation
Required qualifications
- Completion of Ophthalmic Technician training and certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Technician by JCAHPO
- BLS Certification
- Knowledge of ophthalmic terminology, eye diseases, and treatment protocols
- Ability to assess patient symptoms and prioritize care based on established clinical guidelines
- Proficiency in documenting patient encounters within electronic medical records
