Certified Outpatient Coder

Job Summary

Providing expert coding services remotely, the full-time Certified Outpatient Coder will apply CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM codes across multiple specialties while ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and maintaining high accuracy and productivity levels.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately apply diagnosis and procedure codes utilizing ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS
• Calculate ProFee and Facility E/M levels using company algorithms and recognize critical care cases
• Participate in ongoing training and education while maintaining compliance with ethical coding standards

Required qualifications

• Certification through AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P) is mandatory
• Minimum of 6 months of on-the-job coding experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
• Working knowledge of EMR and billing systems
• Ability to maintain a productivity level and accuracy rate of 95% or higher
