Certified Outpatient Coder

Job Summary

To support the Health Information Management department, the full-time Certified Outpatient Coder will code and abstract medical records for outpatient services, assist with coding ERs and infusion cases, and ensure compliance with departmental accuracy and production standards in a remote capacity.

Key responsibilities:

• Code and abstract outpatient medical records following established conventions and guidelines
• Assist with coding and leveling emergency room visits and infusion cases as needed
• Meet departmental accuracy and production standards consistently

Required qualifications:

• 1-3 years of relevant coding experience
• Certification as CCS, COC, RHIA, or RHIT
• Preferred Associate's Degree in a related field
• Preferred Certified Professional Coder certification
