Certified Outpatient Coder

Job Summary

To support healthcare operations, the full-time Certified Outpatient Coder will accurately abstract and enter data into electronic medical record systems while maintaining a coding accuracy rate of 95% or better in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes to various outpatient accounts according to established guidelines
• Abstract and enter coded data for hospital statistical and reporting requirements
• Query physicians to clarify clinical information and communicate documentation improvement opportunities

Required qualifications:

• Possession of an approved AHIMA or AAPC coding credential
• Minimum of 3 years of coding experience, including Trauma Level 1 and Academic Teaching facility experience
