Certified Outpatient Medical Coder

Job Summary

To support accurate reimbursement and compliance, the full-time Certified Outpatient Medical Coder will work remotely to review, code, and abstract outpatient medical records in accordance with established coding guidelines and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Review outpatient medical records to identify documented diagnoses and procedures
• Assign accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT codes according to established coding guidelines
• Code and abstract a diverse range of outpatient encounters, including emergency department and infusion services

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent specialized education and training required
• One (1) to three (3) years of outpatient medical coding experience
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and outpatient coding guidelines
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) is required
