Certified Outpatient Medical Coder

Job Summary

To support a growing healthcare organization, the full-time Certified Outpatient Medical Coder will accurately code data following ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines while working remotely from specific states including AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, LA, MI, NH, and NM.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately code outpatient data in compliance with official coding guidelines and regulations
• Perform data entry of abstracted patient information into the electronic medical record system
• Query physicians as necessary to ensure accurate coding and documentation

Required qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Proof of highest level of education completed, not less than high school or equivalent
• 3 years of Profee coding experience
• AAPC or AHIMA certification (CAH-BS, CCS, CPC, or CIC)
• At least 2 years of active coding experience in Facility Outpatient Coding and compliant query practices
