Certified Outpatient Surgery Coder

Job Summary

To support a growing team, the full-time Certified Outpatient Surgery Coder will provide CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding for various specialties, ensuring accurate code assignment and compliance while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately apply diagnosis and procedure codes utilizing ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS for outpatient surgery and observation cases
• Calculate Facility E/M levels and recognize critical care cases based on patient acuity
• Maintain compliance with coding guidelines and company policies while participating in ongoing training and education

Required qualifications

• Certification through AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P) is mandatory
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in outpatient surgery and observations facility coding
• Experience with E&M, injections/infusions, and emergency department coding is a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook, with a solid understanding of EMR and billing systems
• Ability to maintain a productivity level and accuracy rate of 95% or higher
