Job Summary
To support accurate patient documentation, the full-time remote Certified Pathology Coder will code clinical documentation according to ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 guidelines while ensuring compliance with production and quality goals.
Key responsibilities:
- Review medical records and assign appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for services provided by healthcare professionals
- Perform Anatomic and Clinical Pathology coding services while meeting daily production and quality metrics
- Communicate professionally with internal and external customers regarding coding inquiries and documentation requirements
Required qualifications:
- Two years of healthcare coding experience with ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS classification systems
- Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent from an approved governing body
- Experience with automated patient care and coding systems, such as Cerner Electronic Health Record
- Proficiency in MS Office software, including Word and Excel
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a remote setting
