Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
Job Summary
To support prior authorization processes, the full-time Remote Prior Authorization Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) will review authorization requests, apply clinical criteria, and communicate with providers and pharmacies while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Interprets and applies clinical criteria during the prior authorization review process
- Utilizes member claims history and makes outbound calls to gather necessary information for processing requests
- Handles inbound calls related to prior authorization inquiries and assists with appeals processing as assigned
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or NHA)
- 1 to 3 years of prior authorization experience
- Experience in PBM, managed care, or hospital pharmacy settings
- Minimum typing speed of 35 words per minute
