Certified Physician Coding Supervisor

Job Summary

Providing day-to-day operational and technical leadership, the full-time Certified Physician Coding Supervisor will supervise physician coders, ensuring accurate and compliant coding while supporting quality documentation practices in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the performance of physician coders to ensure compliance with coding standards
• Collaborate with coding leadership and other departments to enhance coding quality and productivity
• Ensure adherence to CMS, AMA compliance, and payer-specific policies while supporting revenue integrity

Required qualifications

• Associate Degree in Health Information Management or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 3 years of professional physician coding experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role
• Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), RHIT, RHIA, or equivalent
• Proficiency with coding software and electronic medical records (EMR)
• Strong leadership and organizational skills with a focus on integrity and attention to detail
