Certified Profee Coder - AZ

Job Summary

Seeking a motivated Certified Profee Coder - AZ, the full-time remote position will focus on high-volume coding for academic facilities, including residents and inpatient visits, while ensuring compliance with national coding guidelines.

Key responsibilities:

• Analyzes medical records and accurately codes diagnostic and procedural information according to national guidelines
• Abstracts clinical diagnoses and procedure codes into electronic medical records, ensuring completeness and accuracy
• Provides quality assurance for medical records, ensuring compliance with coding rules and regulations

Required qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent specialized training in medical record keeping principles
• At least one active certification from AAPC or AHIMA, such as CPC, CCS, or RHIT
• Minimum of six months of professional coding experience or related healthcare experience
• Knowledge of ICD and CPT coding principles as demonstrated by certification
• Ability to work effectively in a remote setting utilizing coding software and office programs
