Certified Professional Coder

Job Summary

Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Certified Professional Coder will focus on cardiology/cardiothoracic coding, ensuring accurate documentation, assigning PQRS codes, and providing feedback and education to physicians regarding coding practices.

Key responsibilities:

• Identify incomplete documentation in medical records and formulate physician queries for clarification
• Investigate and resolve reimbursement issues, including denials, in a timely manner
• Provide training on code selection for new and existing staff while maintaining coding accuracy and productivity standards

Required qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent; graduate of an approved certified coding program preferred
• Three years of physician coding experience in the applicable specialty
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent certification required
• Proficient computer skills, with knowledge of MS Excel preferred
