Certified Professional Coder

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time remote Certified Professional Coder, the candidate will accurately assign ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes to outpatient records, manage billing and collections for client databases, and ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.

Key responsibilities:

• Assign and sequence ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes for various patient types, ensuring accuracy for billing and reimbursement
• Review medical records for deficiencies and ensure accurate documentation reflects diagnoses and procedures
• Abstract clinical data and verify patient account information, coordinating corrections to ensure accurate billing and reporting

Required qualifications:

• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding guidelines and practices
• Nationally recognized coding certificate such as CCA, CCS, CPC, or AAPC certification
• At least one year of professional coding work experience
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively in a team environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software as needed
