Certified Surgical Technician Mentor
Job Summary
To support a new online Surgical Technician Career Training program, the part-time Certified Surgical Technician Mentor will provide 1:1 coaching, reinforce surgical technology concepts, and assist students in preparing for the TS-C certification exam while working remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct weekly mentorship sessions to support student learning and confidence in surgical concepts
- Assist students in connecting coursework to real-world operating room practices and prepare them for clinical readiness
- Collaborate with instructional teams to identify student challenges and enhance the curriculum based on learner feedback
Required Qualifications
- Active Tech in Surgery - Certified (TS-C) credential through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Surgical Technician, preferably in a hospital operating room
- Prior experience mentoring or training students or new Surgical Technicians
- Strong understanding of sterile technique, infection prevention, and intraoperative workflows
- Ability to clearly explain surgical technology concepts to learners with no prior healthcare experience
