Job Summary

To support cancer registry operations remotely, the part-time Certified Tumor Registrar will ensure compliance with facility needs and state regulations while working under the direction of the Senior Cancer Registrar.

Key responsibilities

• Comply with cancer registry operations and maintain accurate records as per state and Commission on Cancer requirements
• Utilize tumor registry coding principles and medical terminology to ensure data accuracy and integrity
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to support accreditation standards set by the American College of Surgeons and Commission on Cancer

Required qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent combination of formal education and experience
• Minimum of 3 years relevant healthcare experience for candidates with an Associate's degree or coding program certificate; 5 years for those with a high school diploma
• Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) certification from the National Cancer Registrars Association
• Extensive knowledge of cancer registry coding principles and accreditation standards
• Previous registry management experience preferred
