Job Summary
To support the Sylvester Cancer Center, the full-time Certified Tumor Registrar (FL) will perform advanced technical work in coding and qualitative analysis of medical records for patients with reportable diseases, ensuring compliance with ACoS CoC and FCDS guidelines in a remote setting.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and abstract eligible cases from medical records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with cancer registry standards
- Track and follow up on cancer patients to update their health status and maintain registry data integrity
- Participate in quality control activities and ongoing professional development through conferences and training
Required qualifications
- Minimum Associate's Degree required
- Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) certification from the National Cancer Registrars Association is required
- At least one year of experience in Tumor Registry or a related field
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and various cancer coding systems (ICD-9, ICD-10, etc.)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Tumor Registry software
