Charge Description Master Specialist

Job Summary

To ensure compliance with coding and billing regulations, the full-time Charge Description Master Specialist will manage the Chargemaster maintenance process, serve as a liaison between hospital ministries and the Revenue Integrity team, and provide training to staff on charge capture improvements in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the Chargemaster maintenance workflow and ensure alignment with PSJH System standards
• Respond to inquiries regarding Chargemaster issues and document all related policies and procedures
• Collaborate with clinical departments and technology teams on projects impacting charge entry and compliance

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Sciences, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 3 years of hospital chargemaster experience, including familiarity with CDM Maintenance software and billing requirements
• 3 years of experience with hospital charging practices
• 2 years of experience working with EMR systems related to Chargemaster, preferably EPIC
• Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD10 coding principles
