Charge Description Master Specialist
Job Summary
To support the PSJH System Revenue Integrity team, the full-time Charge Description Master Specialist will ensure Chargemaster compliance with coding and billing regulations, act as a liaison between hospital ministries and the revenue integrity department, and provide training on CDM maintenance processes, all while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the daily Chargemaster maintenance workflow and ensure adherence to PSJH System standards
- Respond to inquiries from hospital ministries regarding Chargemaster issues and provide necessary training
- Review clinical department charges for compliance with coding standards and coordinate with various departments on related technology projects
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Sciences, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent education/experience
- 3 years of hospital chargemaster experience, including familiarity with CDM Maintenance software and inpatient/outpatient billing requirements
- Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD10 coding principles
- 3 years of experience with hospital charging practices
- 2 years of experience working with EMR related to Chargemaster, preferably EPIC (EAP)
