Charge Description Master Specialist
Job Summary
To support the PSJH System Revenue Integrity Chargemaster team, the full-time Charge Description Master Specialist will ensure compliance with coding and billing regulations, manage CDM maintenance requests, and provide training to hospital staff, all while working remotely during daytime hours.
Key responsibilities
- Ensures the Chargemaster is accurate and compliant with coding and billing regulations
- Acts as a liaison between the hospital and the PSJH System Revenue Integrity/Chargemaster Department
- Coordinates daily CDM maintenance workflow and documents policies and procedures regarding CDM maintenance
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Sciences, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent education/experience
- 3 years of hospital chargemaster experience, including knowledge of inpatient and outpatient billing requirements
- 3 years of experience with hospital charging practices
- 2 years of experience working with EMR related to Chargemaster, preferably EPIC
- Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD10 coding principles
