Job Summary

To support the Revenue Integrity Department, the full-time remote Charge Specialist will manage charge capture for the Surgical Department, ensuring accurate billing codes and documentation while working independently within a self-managed team environment.

Key responsibilities

• Review patient records and assign appropriate billing codes using coding software and the company's Charge Description Master (CDM)
• Identify opportunities for improvement in clinical documentation and communicate findings with Revenue Integrity staff
• Collaborate with other coding staff to maintain consistency in charge capture practices across the system

Required qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge
• At least 2 years of experience in charge capture, preferably in Surgical and/or Endoscopy settings
• Knowledge of medical terminology and current regulatory agency requirements for coding and charging
• Proficiency in common office software and coding/billing software
• Understanding of reimbursement methodologies
