Chief Development Officer

Job Summary

To ensure the long-term sustainability and impact of the organization, the full-time remote Chief of Development will oversee a global revenue strategy, manage fundraising functions, and lead a high-performing development team while collaborating with senior leadership to enhance financial growth and organizational positioning.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a multi-year fundraising strategy with clear annual targets for both restricted and unrestricted revenue
• Lead and mentor a development team, fostering high-level relationships with philanthropic leaders and institutional funders
• Analyze philanthropic landscapes to identify and pursue new growth opportunities while enhancing donor engagement and stewardship strategies

Required qualifications

• 15-20 years of progressive leadership experience in fundraising, with a strong record of executing complex, high-impact strategies
• Deep experience (10-15+ years) in U.S. philanthropic fundraising, with international fundraising experience preferred
• Strong understanding of digital marketing campaigns and experience in expanding individual and mass-market giving
• Significant experience cultivating high-net-worth individuals and familiarity with various philanthropic vehicles
• Proven ability to lead and develop distributed teams while modeling cultural intelligence and commitment to equity and inclusion
