Chief Financial Officer

Job Summary

To support a rapidly scaling AI-focused global development organization, the full-time Chief Financial Officer will design and implement financial architecture, oversee compliance, and manage external partnerships while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Design and establish core financial systems, including budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls
• Lead the financial and compliance workstreams for establishing the organization as an independent entity
• Oversee the entire grant lifecycle and manage legal affairs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements

Required qualifications

• 12+ years of finance experience, including roles as a senior finance leader
• Proven track record of building or rebuilding finance functions in high-growth settings
• Experience with multi-entity, cross-border finance operations in low- and middle-income countries
• Strong understanding of nonprofit finance, compliance, and 501(c)(3) environments
• Professional credentials such as CPA, JD, or MBA are strongly preferred
