Job Summary

Owning the legal and regulatory strategy for the company, the full-time Chief Legal Officer will manage compliance with federal and state laws regarding telemedicine prescribing, advise on clinical practice regulations, and oversee corporate structure while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Own the company's legal position on telemedicine prescribing and manage compliance with the Controlled Substances Act
• Advise on clinical practice regulations, including scope-of-practice and licensure for new state markets
• Draft and negotiate management services agreements and ensure compliance with corporate practice of medicine and fee-splitting laws

Required qualifications

• J.D. and active good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, with eligibility for in-house counsel status
• 12+ years of combined firm and in-house practice, including 5 years advising healthcare providers or digital health companies
• Primary responsibility for controlled-substance regulatory advice, including the Ryan Haight Act
• Direct experience drafting and negotiating MSO structures and defending against corporate practice of medicine challenges
• Fluency in HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules applied in a real engineering and vendor environment
