Chief Operating Officer

Job Summary

Seeking a strategic and mission-driven Chief Operating Officer, the full-time remote position will manage financial strategy, operational execution, and cross-functional integration while overseeing teams in finance, people & culture, operations, technology, and legal risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as chief operating partner to the Executive Director, translating strategy into execution across functional areas
• Lead financial strategy, including long-term planning, budgeting, and major financial decision approvals
• Oversee the entire employee lifecycle and ensure alignment of HR practices with organizational values and legal requirements

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of senior leadership experience, preferably as a COO or equivalent, managing multi-functional teams
• Direct experience overseeing organizational finance at a senior level
• Proven track record in business modeling, long-term financial forecasting, and cost management
• Strong data analysis and strategic thinking skills to drive data-based decisions
• Experience in a nonprofit and/or unionized environment, with an understanding of issues facing low-wage workers
