Job Summary
To support the Social Equity & Inclusion team, the full-time Civil Rights Investigator & Educator will conduct impartial investigations related to civil rights compliance and deliver educational programs to foster an inclusive environment while working in a hybrid capacity.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct thorough and unbiased investigations of complaints related to discrimination and civil rights violations
- Design and deliver educational programs on bias, discrimination, and compliance for the RISD community
- Collaborate with campus and community partners to enhance awareness and prevention efforts regarding civil rights issues
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and 1-2 years of experience in investigations related to civil rights compliance
- Title IX and/or civil rights investigator certification preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of civil rights laws, including Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, and ADA
- Experience in developing and delivering educational programming related to diversity and inclusion
- Ability to maintain neutrality and objectivity throughout investigative processes
