Claims Manager

Job Summary

Overseeing all claims and litigation management activities, the full-time Manager, Claims will monitor file handling, evaluate defense counsel work, and ensure timely and cost-effective case disposition in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and verify insurance coverage for claims against policyholders
• Assign losses to claim staff and approve settlements within authority limits
• Conduct quarterly audits of consultant case files and manage staff performance evaluations

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
• 8 years of experience in handling medical malpractice or heavy bodily injury claims preferred
• A minimum of 3 years of supervisory or management experience
• Broad knowledge of medicine and familiarity with legal concepts and trends in litigation
• Knowledge of insurance policy contracts, particularly medical malpractice and general liability
