Clinical Documentation Integrity Manager

Job Summary

Overseeing the daily operations of the Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) program, the full-time Clinical Documentation Integrity Manager will manage staff activities, ensure quality and accuracy of the CDI process, and collaborate with healthcare leaders to optimize clinical documentation and coding practices, while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the CDI team, including hiring, training, and evaluating performance
• Collect and analyze data related to CDI team performance and develop process improvement projects
• Collaborate with HIM physician advisors and coding leadership to ensure accurate DRG coding and compliance with guidelines

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Health Information Administration
• 3 years of healthcare management experience
• 3 years of experience in inpatient coding and/or clinical documentation
• Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification, or Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) within 6 months if licensed in another state
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and familiarity with Epic and Medicare coding guidelines
