Clinical Subject Matter Expert

Job Summary

To support a growing product team, the full-time Clinical Subject Matter Expert will own the clinical judgment behind position statements for complex facility claims, working remotely to ensure the accuracy and defensibility of clinical arguments while collaborating closely with Product and Engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Review and evaluate position statements for credibility and clarity in clinical reasoning
• Define standards for strong clinical statements and provide guidance for Product and Engineering teams
• Annotate and label statements to train the model, ensuring consistent quality improvement over time

Required qualifications

• Clinical background, typically in nursing, with 5+ years of experience in clinical documentation, denials, or appeals
• Hands-on experience in writing or reviewing appeals and denial responses with demonstrable outcomes
• Working knowledge of facility billing, coding, and reimbursement processes
• Experience providing structured feedback on written work, such as annotating or scoring drafts
• Ability to translate clinical judgment into clear written requirements for product development
