Cloud Computing Engineer
Job Summary
To support the Veterans Affairs (VA) department, the full-time remote Cloud Computing Engineer Principal will design, develop, and manage cloud infrastructure, ensuring compliance with federal policies while providing customer-focused support for VA Enterprise Cloud environments.
Key responsibilities:
- Create and manage cloud architecture diagrams and data flow diagrams for cloud applications and systems
- Implement and oversee automation technologies for continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) processes
- Ensure optimal performance and compliance of cloud-hosted systems through effective monitoring and management of permissions
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- 20+ years of professional experience in designing and managing Azure infrastructure and services
- Expertise in core Azure services and security practices, including Azure Virtual Machines and Azure Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation and cloud operations
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and CI/CD practices, including Azure DevOps Pipelines and GitHub Actions
