Cloud Data Engineer
Job Summary
To support a long-term Department of Defense modernization program, the remote Cloud Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain scalable cloud-based data solutions utilizing Azure and AWS technologies while focusing on data pipelines and analytics in secure environments.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines using Azure Synapse, Databricks, and AWS Glue
- Develop large-scale data transformations with PySpark, Spark SQL, Python, and SQL
- Implement data quality and governance controls alongside CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments
Required qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience designing and supporting production-grade cloud data pipelines
- Strong experience with Azure Synapse, Databricks, and AWS data services
- Advanced proficiency in PySpark, Spark SQL, Python, and SQL
- Experience with ETL/ELT, Change Data Capture, and data lakes/warehouses
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical field and active Secret clearance required
