Cloud Data Engineer
Job Summary
To support a long-term Department of Defense modernization program, the remote Cloud Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain scalable cloud-based data solutions using technologies like PySpark and Azure while ensuring compliance with security requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Design and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines utilizing Azure Synapse, Databricks, and AWS Glue
- Develop large-scale data transformations and implement data quality and governance controls
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines for performance and operational reliability, while supporting cloud data migration initiatives
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of experience designing and supporting production-grade cloud data pipelines
- Strong experience with Azure Synapse, Databricks, and AWS data services
- Advanced proficiency in PySpark, Spark SQL, Python, and SQL
- Experience with ETL/ELT processes, data lakes/warehouses, and CI/CD implementations
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical field and an active Secret clearance
