Cloud Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a part-time Cloud Engineer, this role will design, build, and operate secure cloud infrastructure for large-scale academic research, contributing to infrastructure, DevOps, backend services, and data pipelines while working within a cross-functional team.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure on Azure, ensuring performance, cost-effectiveness, and reliability
• Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, and data pipelines using Python and/or TypeScript/Node.js, along with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
• Implement and maintain security controls and compliance measures across all systems, ensuring adherence to relevant standards

Required Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or software engineering with significant infrastructure ownership
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience with at least one additional programming language (TypeScript/Node.js, Go, or equivalent)
• Deep hands-on experience with Azure cloud services and proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure management
• Production experience with Kubernetes/AKS and solid understanding of data security principles and compliance frameworks
