Cloud Engineer
Job Summary
Seeking a part-time Cloud Engineer, this role involves designing, building, and operating secure cloud infrastructure for large-scale academic research, contributing across the full stack from infrastructure and DevOps to backend services and data pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure on Azure, ensuring performance, cost-effectiveness, and reliability
- Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, and data pipelines using Python and/or TypeScript/Node.js
- Implement and maintain security controls and compliance with data governance requirements across all systems
Required Qualifications
- 5-8 years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or software engineering with significant infrastructure ownership
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Strong proficiency in Python and familiarity with at least one additional programming language (TypeScript/Node.js, Go, etc.)
- Deep hands-on experience with Azure cloud services and proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure management
- Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitHub Actions
