Cloud Security Engineering Manager

Job Summary

Seeking a player-coach Engineering Manager II, Cloud Security to lead and grow the Cloud Security team in a remote-first environment, responsible for setting security standards for AWS and Kubernetes, managing identity and access, and implementing guardrails as code to ensure secure configurations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and grow the team by hiring, coaching, and setting goals for Cloud Security engineers while overseeing delivery against the roadmap
• Own cloud security architecture by establishing standards for AWS account structure, network segmentation, and workload isolation
• Build detection and response capabilities in collaboration with SRE, ensuring robust incident response and cloud-native detection

Required qualifications

• 7+ years in security, infrastructure, or platform engineering on production cloud systems, including 2+ years in a management role
• Deep hands-on experience with AWS security, including IAM, VPC design, and logging
• Proven production Kubernetes security experience, focusing on RBAC, network policy, and workload identity
• Fluency in infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, with a history of implementing effective guardrails
• Strong written communication skills, capable of drafting architecture standards and incident post-mortems
