Cloud Support Engineer

Job Summary

To support the technical needs of customers leveraging Ubuntu and open source products, the full-time Cloud Support Engineer will engage empathetically with clients, collaborate with internal teams to solve complex issues, and manage support cases while working remotely from anywhere in the world.

Key responsibilities

• Partner directly with customers to understand and resolve their technical roadblocks through remote sessions and live conversations
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams to bridge the gap between code fixes and customer satisfaction
• Develop a deep understanding of the Ubuntu development process to provide customers with clear timelines for engineering fixes

Required qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in a technical subject or a compelling alternative narrative
• Hands-on experience supporting Linux systems and familiarity with cloud technologies such as KVM or OpenStack
• Exceptional written and spoken English communication skills
• Proven track record of delivering outstanding results for teams or customers
• Basic programming knowledge in any language to assist in code parsing and collaboration
