COBOL Developer with Security Clearance
Job Summary
To support government modernization initiatives, the remote COBOL Developer with Security Clearance will maintain and enhance legacy systems, write COBOL code, troubleshoot production issues, and assist in technical documentation.
Key responsibilities
- Write and modify COBOL, COBOL Language Extender (COBOL LE), and IBM MVS JCL code
- Troubleshoot and fix production issues while assisting in code testing and reviews
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including application operating instructions and interface diagrams
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 8+ years of experience in COBOL programming and 4+ years with JCL, VSAM, DB2, and CICS
- Experience with mainframe debugging tools and DISA mainframe environments preferred
- CompTIA Security+ Certification (current)
- Working knowledge of COBOL, IBM MVS JCL, and related mainframe technologies
