Coding Specialist II

Job Summary

Providing training and leadership to Coding Specialist I employees, the full-time remote Coding Specialist II will perform coding functions, conduct reviews of medical records, and ensure accurate charge entry for clinical services.

Key responsibilities

• Train, mentor, and lead Coding Specialist I employees
• Perform daily reconciliation of clinical services and assign appropriate CPT, HCPCS, and ICD codes
• Review charge work queues for coding errors and make necessary corrections based on medical documentation

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• AAPC or AHIMA Coding Certification required
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience preferred
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software required
• Experience in CPT and ICD coding preferred
