Collections Specialist

Job Summary

Managing complex collection portfolios, the full-time remote Collections Specialist will perform proactive follow-up on outstanding balances, resolve payment issues, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support timely cash collections and aging reduction.

Key responsibilities

• Manage escalated accounts, aged balances, disputed receivables, and high-priority insurance carrier receivables
• Partner with carriers, attorneys, and internal teams to identify payment barriers and drive timely resolution
• Prepare collection updates, account notes, and reporting insights for management review and month-end reporting

Required qualifications

• 2+ years of accounts receivable, collections, billing, or customer service experience
• Experience collecting on professional services invoices in a project-based organization is preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems, such as NetSuite, is preferred
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate payment issues and resolve disputes
